Fashion Photographer - Mike Rosenthal

Biography:

Mike Rosenthal despite only a short time in the business is a regular on Americas next top model and is best known for his fashion shoots.
This shot gives a real feeling of height perspective while the buildings bring pattern to the shot while also framing the model, the light also encourgaes the eye upwards to the focal point of the models garment.
With the light from the window in this shot and the draping of the dress along the floor creating lines in the shot it almost brings a one point perspective leading the eye to the focal point of the model, an interesting use of light, though not keen on the shot as a whole.

I love how classic this shot is with the deeper tones in the background setting the model apart in the foreground while the light on the models face draws you into the focal point of the shot, the sunglasses.
Simple light tones surrounding the black skirt draws the eye straight into the model as the focal point while the light from the window and the window frame frames the model enahncing her as the focal point of the shot.

The warmth of the lighting in the shot creates real beauty in the models face, while the mirror frames the model and using the reflection in the mirror adds interest. The added element of the models garment brings texture to the shot.

The overhead spotlight works wonders in this shot, creating shadows and adding darker tones to the image while drawing the eye into the centre of the models body and up to the face.

This image has been composed almost in two halves with the spotlight bringing the eye to the focal point of the model, while also creating mood and atmosphere in the shot enhancing the power of the location of this shot.

This image has a real care free feel using faded tones of colour, taken from the perspective level of the model drawing you into the focal point of the models eyes while the fence reflection adds shape and the grass adds texture to the shot.
I love the soft tones in this shot with the focal point being on the models jewellery, while the focus on the models mouth adds a sensual feel to the shot and the line of the sofa adds perspective.

This shot is taken with either a 3 point perspective in mind or the rule of thirds with the lines of the train, the pillars and the centre focal point of the model and the line of light creating lines withint the shot.

A great fashion shot with the Great Wall of China and the rustiness of the trees in the background adding subtle colour and an Autumn feel to the shot, implying this may be an Autumn/Winter fashion shoot. The wall either side of the model frames the model and brings focus to the forefront of the shot.
I love the location of this shot with the daylight seeping through the archways, while the archways add lines to the shot framing the model and creating one perspective towards the end of the corridor.

Hi
Again these images are something you can try yourself, really they are all about the preparation before you take the photographs, try your stretch your prep skills more and do a shoot with a model on location.
